How To Change Your Life Part II
Welcome to Part 2 of our series on How To Change Your Life.
Last week we went over three important things you have to do; go to the gym, get a new style, and drop friends that are holding you back.
Hopefully you’ve already started applying those, because today we’re going to add two more things to the list.
4. Quit video games, porn, and social media. These inventions are probably the worst thing to ever happen to the modern day teen. Your probably addicted to at least one of these right now, and your probably not happy about it.
Do you know what they all have in common?
They’re time wasters. They’re a huge waste of time that prohibits you from living an exciting life.
Let’s start with video games. Yes there fun to play occasionally, but when World of Warcraft becomes more important than the real world; you have a big problem.
I myself was addicted to Halo. Everyday after my freshman year of high-school I would practically run home to my Xbox. I had just moved to a new town as well, so I sacrificed meeting new people to play a game.
Video games combined with social anxiety set myself up for social failure throughout my entire high-school career.
Please don’t let that be you. You will regret it as much as I do.
Next up on the list; porn.
I wouldn’t say I was addicted to porn but I didn’t know how to get girls. Therefore, I spent a lot of time talking to girls on stupid internet chat rooms.
It would make me feel like I could get laid, but in reality, I was lying to myself. I even told myself that if they were with me in real life I would be fucking them. Yeah right.
I was too much of a pussy to talk to a girl in real life.
Again, don’t go down this path. It will make it a lot harder for you when you do start talking to girls outside of a computer screen.
In addition, there’s a lot of talk today with porn fucking up your dick. Guys are having Porn Induced Erectile Dysfunction (PIED), pre-mature ejaculation, and a multitude of other sexual problems.
When you fuck your first chick, it would really suck to have to worry about all that.
Last but not least, we have social media.
This one I was in denial for a long time. I would sit on my computer refreshing Facebook hoping I would get a notification. I would chat random girls trying to get laid. I would be mad at how many likes someone’s status would get while mine would get none.
At the time I didn’t know how much of an impact it was having on me. It took me a few years before I finally realized how much negativity and anxiety I was getting just from going on Facebook.
If you feel anything like what I’m describing, delete your Facebook right now. Delete your Twitter and Instagram as well. They waste time and make you feel like shit.
5. Get rid of anxiety. Anxiety is the worst. It will prevent you from doing anything social, which will prevent you from living a kick-ass life.
You want to be more social than the average person before you get to college.
How do you do that you ask?
You have to look at your anxiety in the face and beat the shit out of it.
You have to talk to people.
Anything your afraid of doing socially, you have to just man-up and do it. The only way to get over a fear is by being exposed to it and realizing it’s not as bad as you thought.
Beating your anxiety will take some time, but once it’s off your back you will feel amazing. You will feel like a completely different person.
In the future I will have specific drills for you to do, but for now start by talking to people in your class, employees at cash registers, or even your teachers.
Anything to get you talking to people instead of your own head is a foot in the right direction.
