How To Be Happy (The Real Way)

Welcome back everyone, tonight we’re going to be talking about how to be happy. This is probably the most overlooked and misguided aspect in people’s lives, as they are looking for happiness in all the wrong places.

Most people are sold that they will be happy through things like having a stable job, house, and wife, while also being considered popular amongst a bunch of people they don’t even like.

But guess what?

Doing things that popular culture says will make you happy, is done so because they have an agenda to make money off of you.

In reality, doing “what you’re supposed to do”, will be make you extremely unhappy, which is why society in the United States has completely collapsed in the last decade.

More and more people are living in virtual reality (YouTube, Netflix, Twitch, etc.), because their actual reality is so unbearable.

Happiness Comes From Yourself

The first thing you have to realize, is that you’re in control of your own thoughts. You have to let go of all the outside influence that has been injected into you your entire life, and start thinking for yourself.

Most people’s opinions are based off of regurgitated information that they learned from the masses. They do not use their own judgment, they just blindly trust what the popular opinion is.

And that is the biggest mistake right there. As we discussed previously, the majority is wrong.

Do What Makes You Happy

So how do you become happy? Easy, just do what makes you happy.

In order to find happiness, think about what makes you smile.

Make a list of everything that you enjoy in life, and spend as much time as you can doing those things.

For example, here are some things that I enjoy:

  • Chocolate
  • Seinfeld/Curb
  • Magic: The Gathering
  • Karaoke
  • Blackjack
  • Writing/Making Videos on L2W to help others
  • Ecommerce
  • Kratom
  • The Gym
  • Sleep/Relaxing in bed
  • Animals
  • Drumming
  • Girls that I genuinely like being with
  • Marijuana before bed
  • Reading a good book at the beach/pool

Does your job make you happy? Does college make you happy? Does going to the bar to try and bang random chicks make you happy?

It could, but I think that in the vast majority of cases, it doesn’t.

And yes, you could say that my lifestyle allows me to live differently than you, and that’s definitely true.

The difference is that instead of putting work into school and a job, for the past three years I only put the work into myself.

You have to fight for your happiness, it’s not just going to magically appear.

You Need To Be Free

Which brings me to my next point – it is not possible to have sustainable happiness if you don’t have the freedom to do what you want.

Any sort of schedule placed upon you, is the same as shackles being placed around your ankles.

I’m not saying to snap quit your job or drop out of college, but you should be working on something that will eventually allow you to do so. You should be focused on getting out as fast possible.

Your happiness is much more important than what society wants you to do. Without happiness, what is the point of life?

Don’t Fall For The Social Trap

Another extremely important factor in being happy, is to live for yourself instead of others.

It absolutely blows my mind how many people are addicted to the little red Facebook notification symbol.

They stage their lives like they are Dan Bilzerian. Everything is fluffed up to give the illusion that they are happy, all to make their “friends” feel unhappy.

It’s a giant game of acting, and it’s a trap. The people who post their daily attention seeking crap, are in reality the most unhappy people of them all.

In addition, most “friends” don’t actually like each-other. They are just being friends for the ego boost and because they are “supposed” to be popular.

If you find you are doing this too, trust me, you’ll feel a lot better if you just quit being an Actor. If you don’t actually like the person, stop being friends with them.

These people are holding you back from reaching your goals, and one of the best things I’ve ever done was to cut ties with them all.

Final Thoughts

Alright guys, that’s it for tonight.

Like I mentioned previously, you’re in control of your thoughts; happiness comes within yourself.

During your own self-improvement journey, you will come across A LOT of obstacles. There were many instances when I could’ve very easily called it quits. But if you want to truly be happy, quitting is not an option.

It’s going to take everything you got, and bad things will happen. Instead of getting upset, realize that everything happens for a reason. The universe is testing you to see if you have what it takes.

Fight for your happiness. You only have one life, don’t waste it.
